So Boston was a miserable shut-out. So much that, with the 4,000+ deferrals due to the heat, I’m not sure that my 3:39:11 qualifier from Georgia Marathon that I ran accidentally is going to be good/fast enough to get me into the 2013 Boston Marathon. Yes, Boston has become a slight obsession. Trying for 7 Bostons in a row and I’m at 6 in a row right now (7 total, took a few years off for babies). Luckily, I have the best, most supportive hubby in the world. When I explained the statistics and how my qualifier might not be good enough, he said, “Go find another and qualify! You’ve gotta do this!” So that’s exactly what I’m doing. Deciding to run it has practically given me an ulcer. But alas, I’m going.
Grandma’s Marathon. It’s in 2 1/2 weeks. Kind of a bucket-lister and I’m psyched to be going! The race is Saturday, June 16th. I’m flying out Friday the 15th at Noon, and I’ll be home again a mere 34 hours later, hopefully victorious with a solid Boston Qualifier in my belt. I hope….!!!!
I’m still juggling/dodging foot issues, but I think it’s under control. Had a decent speed workout today and I’m doing a long run Saturday morning of 18-22 miles. I need to come up with a time goal and a strategy. Stay tuned…
Gotta Run (Another Marathon),
